"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." ( Lev. 20:13 )
My friends , the Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin ( Gen. 19:1-13; Lev. 18:22; 20:13; Rom. 1:26-27; 1 Cor. 6:9). Rom. 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When people continue in sin and unbelief, God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Cor. 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God!
However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Cor. 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Cor. 6:11; 2 Cor. 5:17; Phil. 4:13).

That verse is taken out of context. When it says that, it's a means of property. Women were treated as property in those days, so if a man treats another man as his property it is a sin.
ReplyDeleteThe bible was translated from latin, and there is no word in latin for homosexuality or anything that comes close to meaning that.
There is nothing in the bible that actually says homosexuality is wrong. I challenge you to a duel.
"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
ReplyDeleteAnd likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." (Rom. 1:26-27).
'Nuff said. As for wanting a "duel", keep it, my friend. And in the meantime I shall continue to pray for your true salvation.
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (1 Tim. 4:1)
Also , FYI , the Jewish books, what we call the Old Testament in the Bible, were translated into Koine Greek, called Septuagint, a few centuries before Jesus Christ, and hence existed Greek and Hebrew versions of the same text by the time of Jesus.
ReplyDeleteSome of the Hebrew scriptures were lost in the destruction of the Jewish Temple in AD 70. When St. Jerome translated to Latin, he used BOTH Hebrew and Greek versions, and used GREEK versions for the lost Hebrew Texts.
Hence , The word homosexual comes from the Ancient Greek word homos, meaning "same", and sexus, the Latin word for "gender".
